A jury convicted a Rollingstone, Minn., man Thursday for misdemeanor obstructing the legal process after an altercation with Winona's sheriff.
But the jury also acquitted Jeffrey Mark Dornbusch, 40, of disorderly conduct for the same incident. Judge Nancy Bostrack sentenced him to probation and ordered he pay $280 in fines and fees.
According to initial police reports, Winona County Sheriff Dave Brand and two deputies were discussing the Flood Run in April on Main Street in Rollingstone. Dornbusch approached the three appearing irritated and yelled at Brand, saying there were too many deputies in Rollingstone.
Dornbusch was asked to be quiet and leave several times but refused, according to police reports. Deputies attempted to escort the man off the roadway, and he resisted by pulling away. He was arrested and handcuffed.
