A Wisconsin rescue party found a Modena, Wis., hunter Sunday after a more than four-hour search in the Tiffany Wildlife Refuge.
Stephen Burchard, 58, was uninjured when rescuers found him, save for a few scratches, according to the Buffalo County Sheriff's Department. He was hunting in the refuge between Nelson and Pepin when he became disoriented and lost, he told the sheriff's department.
Burchard's family members called the sheriff's department at about 6:20 p.m., to report he was missing. He had been duck hunting since 6 a.m. in the refuge and had been expected back at noon, but he didn't return, according to the sheriff's department.
Members of the sheriff's department, Nelson Fire Dep-artment, Nelson First Resp-onders, Wisconsin Depart-ment of Natural Resources, Pepin County Sheriff's Dep-artment, Pepin Police, Wis-consin State Patrol and the Alma Fire Department immediately began looking for Burchard.
Search party members from the Nelson Fire Department on ATVs found Burchard at about 10:50 p.m., about three miles north of where he he entered the refuge, according to the sheriff's department.
