Sexual predator arrested while working fair

CEDARBURG, Wis. (AP) — Cedarburg's police chief claims managers of a Waupaca company that ran carnival booths at the Ozaukee County Fair lied about the identity of an employee who is a registered sex offender.

Three managers of Tip Top Shows and the offender, Ronald McGwin, were arrested at the fair Sunday. McGwin is registered as a sex offender in Illinois, where he was convicted of sexually abusing a 13-year-old child five years ago.
Chief Tom Frank said Tip Top provided a list of employees who would be working at the fair so police could do background checks. McGwin's name was not on the list.

A call to Tip Top for comment was not immediately returned.
