Donald S. Grulkowski
Donald S. Grulkowski, 71, of Bluff Siding, Wis., died Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at his home.
Don was born April 24, 1937, in Arcadia, Wis., to Stephan and Monica (Killian) Grulkowski. On Sept. 11, 1965, he married Carol Miller; they later divorced.
He was a member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Winona.
Don honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959 and was stationed aboard the USS Leary.
Don enjoyed breakfast at local cafes with his friends, playing tennis, traveling down under for the Australian Open, and peaceful nights on his hobby farm.
He was an accomplished wood craftsman and made many furniture pieces for his family. Don worked at Hauser Art Glass Co. in the faceted branch for the majority of his career.
He is survived by his children, Heather Grulkowski of Minneapolis, Holly Grulkowski of Vista, Calif., and Stephen (Sandee) Grulkowski of Winona; seven grandchildren, Sophia, Solomon, Kelsey, Brody, McKenna, Teghan, and Roman; brothers and sister, LaVerne (Mary Lou) Grulkowski of Arcadia, James (Dorothy) Grulkowski of Independence, Wis., Robert (Jeanette) Grulkowski of Dousman, Wis., Dennis (Rita) Grulkowski of Franklin, Wis., Sr. Stephanie (Darlene) Grulkowski of Peoria, Ill., and Edward Grulkowski of Arcadia; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. The Rev. Thomas Niehaus will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Arcadia.
Friends may call Friday, Aug. 8, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home. Friends may also call at the cathedral on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.

TREMPEALEAU, Wis. — Marian Helleland died in her home Aug. 5, 2008. Marian was born May 15, 1921, to Lawrence and Mina (Solberg) Foss in Arcadia, Wis. She married Ralph Kopp on Dec. 31, 1941. Ralph died July 5, 1965. Marian married Milton Helleland Nov. 28, 1968. Milton died March 27, 2000.
Marian is survived by a son, Larry (Mary) Kopp of Trempealeau; a stepson, Douglas (Celina) Kopp of Whitehall, Wis.; grandson, Josh (Becky) Kopp of Trempealeau; stepgrandchildren, Jerry (Karen) Kopp of Oak Creek, Wis., Sue (Charles) Thompson of Strum, Wis., Doug Jr. (Liza) Kopp of Pigeon Falls, Wis., Nancy (Tim) Maule of Independence, Wis., Tom (Stephanie) Kopp of Whitehall. She is further survived by a great-grandson, Josef Kopp; and a stepgreat-granddaughter, AubriAnna Schultz; and two sisters, Lucille Monson of Trempealeau and Jean McDonah of Galesville.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; brother, Phillip Foss; and sister, Jane Hunter.
Marian will be remembered for her knitting, crocheting, and sewing, and her fabulous finger rolls that she made for all the holiday and family celebrations. She was an avid card player and devotedly spent time at the Marinuka Manor Nursing Home assisting with weekly card games.
Marian was a member of the Eastern Star.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Trempealeau. The Rev. Dana Jackson will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Centerville.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 7, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Trempealeau and from 10 a.m. until services at the church on Friday.
