Kline joins fellow Republicans on drilling protest

WASHINGTON (AP) — Minnesota Congressman John Kline is joining about 20 other Republicans on the House floor demanding that Speaker Nancy Pelosi bring back lawmakers to vote on an energy package that includes more domestic drilling.

Kline complains in an interview that Pelosi, a Democrat, adjourned for five weeks "without addressing the most important issue facing America today."

Kline said he heard about the GOP's similar Friday protest and decided to fly back to Washington from Minnesota on Sunday night. He's willing change vacation, district work and campaigning to keep the pressure on, he said.

A spokeswoman for Kline's Democratic challenger, Steve Sarvi, accused the congressman of "showboating."
