Suspect arrested in homeless camp homicide

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minneapolis police have arrested a suspect in a homicide at a homeless camp.

Police arrested the 43-year-old man Sunday afternoon. He was booked into the Hennepin County Jail, and the case turned over to the Hennepin County Attorney's office for possible charges.

Police were called at 7 a.m. Sunday about a man's body found in a secluded area of a commercial district on the northern edge of downtown Minneapolis.

Police describe the area as a homeless encampment. It's not known if the victim was homeless.

The medical examiner's office has determined the death was a homicide. The victim's name has not been released.
