Published - Tuesday, August 05, 2008 Man charged in attempted slayings in western Minnesota WILLMAR, Minn. (AP) — A 28-year-old Clinton man is charged with attempted murder after allegedly cutting the throats of a woman and young girl. Christopher Hyden appeared Monday in Kandiyohi County District Court and was charged with attempted murder, criminal sexual conduct and assault. Authorities say the 28-year-old woman and 6-year-old girl were found in a house in Clinton. The victims were hospitalized in Graceville, though their conditions weren't immediately available. While Big Stone County is handling the case, Hyden is being held in Kandiyohi County because the larger county has more law enforcement facilities. Kent Marshall of Barrett, who was appointed to represent Hyden, didn't immediately return a call seeking comment.
