Cornell University provost Biddy Martin is expected to arrive mid-month.
She will move into Olin House, which has just undergone a $2.4 million renovation.
Retiring chancellor John Wiley helped raise donations for the project, which he says was sorely needed. He recalled pipes bursting during a reception for a major university donor and having to trap bats in the house with fish net.
Wiley moved out two years ago so work could be done on the 97-year-old red brick mansion.
John Myers Olin donated the house on Prospect Hill to the university in 1924, and it reverts to his trust if not used as the chancellor’s residence.
