The page before Galewski’s opinion had a story that said that Exxon-Mobil “reported the fattest operating profit in U.S. corporate history.” Most of us free thinkers believe that two things happened over the last 71/2 years.
First, we have a president who only cares for anyone but the yes men who put him in — big oil, the right wing religious types and — most of all — the war mongers.
With his my-way-or-the-highway attitude, we little people are going broke.
Gas is $4 a gallon because that is the decision Dick Cheney and the big oil made seven years ago. It is not because we are addicted or because of offshore drilling. At one time, it was because more Americans were driving, but that theory has been blasted in the last couple of weeks. We are at peak driving for the summer and gas has fallen dramatically.
Keep in mind that Bush only had one veto before the switch in Congress. After the Democrats took control, he glued that veto pen to his hand and that is why nothing gets accomplished. The administration is a corrupt, stonewalling enemy to our country and they should all be held for treason.
Secondly, due to our administration’s lead, we have become a greedy nation. Even local businesses would rather make money than give a good product. I know personally that the customer does not come first. For a long time, they tried to hold back the prices, but big oil forced businesses to raise prices faster than we make money. I can relate because my children mess things up faster than I can clean them up. I fix one problem and they break two things.
The same works with our tainted companies, while we are working to do things the honest way. They are finding ways to undercut the regular guy — it is called “class warfare.”
