Monday
10:02 p.m. — An employee at Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical reported a Hitachi projector and a Gateway laptop missing after an inventory check. The items were estimated to be worth about $3,000. The employee did not know when the theft may have taken place.
Tuesday
4:05 p.m. — A man reported his red 1985 Yamaha moped was stolen sometime between Sunday and Tuesday. The moped, which does not run, was parked in the alley behind Brothers bar, 129 W. Third St. The estimated worth of the moped is $300.
7:26 p.m. — Police responded to a residence in the 1700 block of West Seventh Street for a report of an assault. Witnesses said a fight had occurred between Marcus Lamont Weston, 27, of Winona and a woman. Weston hit the woman, choked her and threw her to the ground and attacked several people who tried to intervene. A man was cut on the chin with a four-inch awl. Police discovered Weston near the Sinclair gas station on Highway 61, complaining of being hit in the head with a baseball bat. He was taken to Community Memorial Hospital, where he became belligerent. He was taken to the Winona County Jail and held. He is being referred to the Winona County Attorney’s Office for possible charges of domestic assault.
