Published - Friday, August 01, 2008 Woman found guilty in mushroom case Kathryn Stella Rogers, 30, of Fountain City, Wis., was found guilty of a felony controlled substance crime in the fifth degree and misdemeanor failure to provide vehicle insurance after a 21/2 hour deliberation Wednesday by a Winona County jury. During the two-day trial, an officer from the Winona Police Department testified he found mushrooms in Rogers’ purse July 31, 2006. Subsequent testing of those mushrooms by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension revealed the presence of psilocyn, a hallucinogen defined as a controlled substance under Minnesota law. Judge Jeffrey D. Thompson set sentencing for 3:30 p.m. Sept. 11.
