There are many serious issues facing this state and the country as a whole. Our failing infrastructure, our energy crisis, the economy and the prolonged war in Iraq are just a few of the issues that need serious debate I would expect the pastor to take the high road. Negative personal issues are not what this election is about. This country faces very serious issues, which both political parties must address. We, as a country, stand to gain nothing from this sort of rhetoric. My hope is that the upcoming campaign will be issue based.
Yes, Republicans and Democrats are not going to agree on some issues, but there is common ground that we can agree on. When this election is over, politicians from both parties are going to have to work together to reach real solutions to the problems that our nation faces.
The divisive politics that Ibisch demonstrates will do nothing to bring this nation together or bring about solutions to these very serious issues.
