Besides their non-league regular season finale tonight, the LeJetz (18-12, 10-6) will be playing the waiting game, as they finished First District play on the bubble of hosting a first-round district playoff game.
“We got out of there with a split,” LeJetz coach Gary Hoeppner said. “But it’s not what we were looking for.”
Game 1 went to extra innings before Rochester’s Mike Glasenapp hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the eighth.
The LeJetz out-hit the Eagles 12-6 in the loss. Andy Wolfe, Arran Davis and Jake Wanek all went 3-for-4.
David Miller and Adam Lueck combined on a six-inning, four-hitter in Game 2. Miller picked up the win, striking out four in four innings.
Andy Wolfe went 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Brandon Schmit was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, Ryan Speltz went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI and Matt Wolfe was 2-for-4 for the LeJetz.
La Crescent 10, Wabasha 1
LA CRESCENT, Minn. — La Crescent’s Brandon Verthein one-hit Wabasha and struck out 11 over a seven-inning complete game.
La Crescent’s Levon Mueller, a UW-La Crosse football recruit, went 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs.
Wabasha (7-7) took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but La Crescent (16-2) took the lead for good with two runs in the bottom of the inning and put the game away with six runs in the bottom of the third.
