The Buddies (14-7, 7-4) pounded out 10 hits and had an eight-run second inning.
“The whole year, we have been waiting for our hitting to come together,” Winona coach Matt O’Brien said. “This game, we finally started hitting the ball hard.
“We had three extra-base hits with two outs and we had four two-out run scoring hits.”
Logan Hemker went 3-for-4 with an RBI, Jake Filand went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Kyle Kowalewski had a triple and an RBI for the Buddies.
Tommy Mullen had a double and two RBIs and Erik Chapman had a double and an RBI for Winona.
With the win, the Buddies now have a chance to host a home playoff game if they takes care of business in their doubleheader today against Owatonna.
