After striking out nine in six innings, Gilbertson hit a grand slam in the seventh, his second home run of the game, to lead Whitehall High School’s baseball team past Independence/Gilmanton 15-3 on Tuesday in the Dairyland Conference.
Gilbertson, who hit a three-run home run in the fifth, finished 3-for-4 with seven RBIs. He held I/G to three runs and walked four to go along with his nine strikeouts and the victory.
Ryan Guza went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for I/G.
Arcadia 12, Alma 1
ALMA, Wis. — Cole Bawek hit a solo home run as part of Arcadia’s six-run second inning, and Max Ferguson hit a two-run home run in the fifth.
Ferguson went 2-for-3 with a home run, double and three RBIs and Tyler Manley went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Raiders.
Arcadia pitchers Dylan Pronschinske and Brandon Zastrow combined to hold Alma to two hits. Pronschinske picked up the win with four strikeouts and no walks in three innings.
G-E-T 10, Eleva-Strum 2
GALESVILLE, Wis. — David Kulig picked up the win for Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau and helped himself in the process, going 3-for-3 with two doubles.
Luke Neitzel went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs for G-E-T, which scored seven runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings combined to secure the win.
West Salem 10, B-T 5
BLAIR, Wis. — West Salem used a five-run sixth inning to pull away from Blair-Taylor and remain unbeaten in the Dairyland Conference.
Josh Zander went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and picked up the win for West Salem (10-2, 10-0), striking out three in six innings.
Lucas Howe went 2-for-4 with a double and Nate Nandory went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for B-T.
