3:03 p.m. — A 17-year-old Minnesota City girl was cited for theft by shoplifting from J.C. Penney. She was caught stealing jewelry, clothing and a wallet, with a total worth of $309.
Saturday
10:45 p.m. — A 28-year-old Winona woman reported a group of people approached her in the area of the West Wabasha Street housing complex at about 10 p.m., threatened her and called her names. The victim had a harassment restraining order against a woman in the group: Nikita Genelle Williams, 26, of Winona. Police referred Williams to the county attorney’s office for violating the order.
Sunday
1:55 p.m. — Justine Nicole Gahnz, 21, was cited for theft for stealing $41 worth of gas from the Freedom station store at 920 Mankato Avenue.
Monday
11:20 p.m. — Derrick Lee Borneman, 21, of St. Charles, Minn., was driving south on Franklin Street and failed to stop for a stop sign at Sarnia Street and broadsided a vehicle driven by Patricia Ann Williams Malay, 49, of Burnsville, Minn., who was traveling east on Sarnia Street. Malay was transported by a private party to Community Memorial Hospital with possible injuries. Borneman appeared intoxicated, was arrested and supplied a breath test that found his blood-alcohol concentration to be 0.18 percent. He was charged Monday with criminal vehicular injury and drunken driving.
Tuesday
1:02 a.m. — Police were dispatched to an apartment in the 1700 block of West Wabasha Street on a report of a teenager shooting a BB gun into a window at another teen. The suspect took several shots that damaged the screen and the wall around the window. No one was hurt. Police found the 13-year-old culprit hiding in another apartment and recovered the gun from a grill in a nearby yard. The boy was arrested and referred to the county attorney’s office for charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, making terroristic threats, damage to property and giving police a false name.
