In the end, the Pirates didn’t need the power.
C-FC recorded nine hits — all singles — in a 7-5 victory over visiting Eleva-Strum in Dairyland Conference play.
“Not even a double,” C-FC coach Bill Wilhelmi said. “Most of them were seeing-eye singles, but it worked out.”
Tyler Keil went 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Carl Hoffmann went 2-for-3 with two RBIs to lead C-FC, which scored twice in each of the fourth, fifth and sixth innings before surviving a late Eleva-Strum rally.
Sam White went 2-for-3 with an RBI and struck out three over five innings to earn the win for the Pirates.
Arcadia 5, Blair-Taylor 4 (8)
ARCADIA, Wis. — Dylan Pronschinske and Brandon Zastrow each went 2-for-4 to lead the Raiders, who scored a run in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game before winning in extra innings.
Tyler Manley, who had a double, struck out seven over three innings of scoreless relief and earned the win.
Lucas Howe went 2-for-4 with a triple, and Jordan Zinn had a double to lead B-T.
Whitehall 9, Lincoln 1
ALMA CENTER, Wis. — James Gilbertson went 4-for-4 with a double and four RBIs to lead Whitehall, which jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first inning.
Travis Janke went 2-for-4, and Nick Seichter had a home run to lead Lincoln, which committed five errors.
West Salem 12, Alma 0 (5)
WEST SALEM, Wis. — Alma managed just two hits and committed three errors in the five-inning loss to West Salem, which improved to 7-0 in conference play.
